Dr. Kai Weng

Dental Hero and Owner at Dental Designs of Maryland

Dr. Kai Weng DDS, FICOI is a Perry Hall resident of nearly 15 years, and a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. After graduating, Dr. Weng worked several years in private practice while furthering his clinical education through renowned institutes including Spear Education, Live Implant Academy, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, AIC Implant Research, Aligntech, and more. Through these years Dr. Weng has gained a reputation for delivering high quality dentistry with a caring and compassion demeanor. With Dental Designs of Maryland, it is Dr. Weng’s hope that he can play a vital role in the community as a healthcare leader, serving to improve the lives of the greater Baltimore area through both dental care as well as community involvement.

Dr. Weng is licensed by the Dental Board of Maryland. He believes that Continuing Education is the key to improving both professional development and patient care, and regularly attends classes to stay up-to-date with the latest dental techniques and research.

Dr. Nina-Cecilia Santos

Tooth Slayer and Partner and Dental Designs of Maryland

Dr. Nina-Cecilia Santos DDS, MS is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and as a native of Perry Hall, is honored to be serving the community she calls home. Dr. Santos has had a lifelong passion for dentistry, having worked as a dental assistant after college for four years prior to attending dental school for her doctorate. As somebody who knows both sides of the profession and having deep roots in the Baltimore community, Dr. Santos is uniquely positioned to provide quality dental care with the highest level of compassion and a light touch that our patients love.

Dr. Santos offers a diverse range of dental services and specializes in cosmetic dentistry including porcelain veneers, porcelain crowns, laser gum treatments, and Invisalign orthodontic treatment. She also is trained in the diagnosis and treatment of orofacial pain and sleep apnea treatment. She actively pursues specialized education through Gordon Christensen, Dawson Academy, Aligntech, and more. It is her goal to provide cutting edge dental care and give each of her patients the beautiful smile of their dreams.

Dr. Jordan Zaner

Molar Master at Dental Designs of Maryland

Dr. Zaner strives to provide dental care that is tailored to your individual case. His dental philosophy centers around a relationship-based approach to oral health, that is individualized to each patient’s unique needs and desires for their treatment. His goal is to develop important and lasting relationships with his patients over time that will allow for open communication, discussion, collaboration about the treatment plan, and the most comprehensive care possible.

He truly values the opportunity to get to know his patients, their families, and to learn and grow from their shared experiences. He is dedicated to providing innovative dental care to a diverse group of patients with a strong medical knowledge base, thoughtfulness, and humanism – and will do so with commitment, compassion, and professionalism.

Dr. Zaner was born and raised in Darnestown, Maryland and currently resides in North Potomac with his wife Katie, who is a local pediatrician, and his children Jason and Emily. When not at the office, Dr. Zaner enjoys spending time with his family, working out, SCUBA diving, challenging his friends and family to board games, reading science fiction, learning about cosmology and the science of the universe, and rooting for the Maryland Terrapins – Go Terps!

Education

Dr. Zaner completed undergraduate training at the University of Maryland, College Park with a focus in Neurobiology and Physiology. He received his DDS at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where he did additional clinical training in Geriatrics and Special Patient Care. He then completed a dental fellowship in Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology and Geriatric Dentistry.

Since that time Dr. Zaner has been in private practice in Maryland. He is dedicated to life-long learning and professional development. He truly strives to keep up with the newest evidence-based dentistry. He has completed multiple post-graduate course continuums at the Pankey Institute and Pikos Institute, which are well-recognized dental and surgical training programs. Dr. Zaner is also an active member of the local chapter of the Pankey Learning Group, a study club dedicated to teaching the latest techniques in restorative, functional, and esthetic dentistry. Additionally, he was awarded fellowship by the International Congress of Oral Implantology in 2018, and fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2020.

With his background in treating medically complex and compromised patients, Dr. Zaner incorporates a comprehensive approach to dentistry that includes expertise in restorative and esthetic dentistry, placement and restoration of implants, advanced grafting techniques, treatment of TMD and pain disorders, full mouth rehabilitation, and smile designs.

Dr. David Levine

Oracle of Occlusion at Dental Designs of Maryland"

Dr. Levine was born and raised in Cumberland, Maryland where he was no stranger to the dental field. His mother was a dentist which helped inspire him to pursue his own career in dentistry. In 2010, Dr. Levine obtained his undergraduate degree in Cell and Molecular Biology at Washington and Jefferson College with Cum Laude honors. He then completed two years of research at the National Institutes of Health after being a recipient of the intramural research training award. Dr. Levine then attended and graduated from the University of Maryland, School of Dentistry in 2016.

Dr. Levine is an active member of the community. He has participated in numerous Mission of Mercy events throughout Maryland. He also visits schools to educate elementary school students about the importance of oral hygiene. In his spare time, Dr. Levine enjoys spending time with his wife Danielle and puppy Camie. He is an avid Baltimore Ravens fan and will always be wearing his purple tie on Fridays.

Dr. Levine would say that he takes pride in providing a relaxing and stress-free dental visit for his patients while also administering high quality treatment. He understands that being in the dental chair can be a nerve-racking experience and approaches each patient with kindness and patience.

Dr. Jeremie DeZwirek

The Decisive Incisor at Dental Designs of Maryland

Dr. Jeremie DeZwirek (Dr. Dez) received his Bachelor’s degree in molecular cell biology from the University of California, Berkeley.

Dr. Dez received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry with honors. During dental school, he was selected into the advanced oral surgery and pediatric clinical programs. He was actively involved with local community outreach as well as dental mission trips to Guatemala, Philippines, and Mexico.

Dr. Dez went on to complete his advanced training through a general practice residency at the VA Hospital in San Diego, California. He has a strong interest in implants, interdisciplinary dentistry, and dental forensics. Dr. Dez ensures he provides the best care possible to patients by attending a variety of continuing education courses.

While in college, Dr. Dez was an NCAA All-American athlete and helped lead the Cal swim team to an NCAA Division I title in 2014. Dr. Dez went on to win the 2016 Canadian Olympic Trials in the 200-meter backstroke, missing Canada’s 2016 Olympic games qualifying time by just 0.09 seconds.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Dez enjoys community outreach, travelling, and is a superfan of the reality show Survivor. He is fluent in French.

Dr. Joshua Metzger

Implant Genius and Periodontist at Dental Designs of White Marsh

Dr. Joshua Metzger DDS, MS was born and raised in Pikesville, Maryland. He went to the University of Maryland at College Park, participated in the Scholars program and graduated Cum Laude in 2007 with a B.S. in Physiology/Neurobiology. He attended the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and through his experience as a dental student his interests in periodontology, implantology, and periodontal-prosthetics grew early and rapidly. Immediately following dental school he began a 3-year periodontics residency with combined Masters Program also at the University of Maryland. In addition to advanced clinical training, he also taught and conducted research at the university. His last focus was the completion of a 2-year part-time clinical fellowship in Implant Periodontal Prosthetics with aim to provide additional experience with the successful planning and completion of complex cases.

In his spare time he loves to play golf and enjoys other warm weather activities especially involving the beach and water. He is a passionate Ravens and Orioles fan as well and enjoys attending games at the stadiums year-round!

Agnes Roman DDS, MPH

A lifelong resident of the state, Dr. Agnes Roman attended the University of Maryland to earn her undergraduate degrees in Biology and Community Health while working as an orthodontic assistant part-time. She then pursued a master’s degree in public health with a concentration in epidemiology, to be able to better understand the distribution and determinants of disease, where she focused her master’s thesis research on dental sealants. After working for a few years as an epidemiologist for the NIH’s Office of Disease Prevention, her passion for dentistry led her to earn her DDS degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, graduating in the top 5% of her class. While in dental school, she participated in a selective clinical program to gain additional training focusing on treatment planning and restoration of difficult prosthodontic cases. Following dental school, she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center, where she expanded upon her clinical skills including digital dentistry, implant placement, and management of medically complex patients. Dr. Roman maintains committed to lifelong continuing education and strongly believes that staying up to date on advances in the dental field is a necessity for delivering top notch care. Her patients appreciate her calm demeanor and gentle touch.

Growing up, Dr. Roman always wanted to be an artist and was drawn to how the natural world works. Dentistry proved to be a wonderful career choice, as it pairs art with science, and incorporates a third passion she has for serving others, allowing her to improve the lives of others while doing what she loves. In her spare time, Dr. Roman enjoys volunteering her time at Mission of Mercy dental clinics across the state and participating in dental health advocacy. 
 
Outside of the dental office, Dr. Roman enjoys spending time with her family and friends, trying new foods, and traveling. She grew up hiking, exploring, and camping in parks across the nation and loves to spend time outdoors when the weather is nice. On cold and rainy days, she enjoys trying out new recipes or curling up with a good book.
